US History, BJU Press, 10^th-12^th Grades:

1 Credit Hour

2^nd Period 10:30am-12pm, 4th Period 2:20pm-4:00pm

This course deals with United States History from early exploration (1492AD) through the modern period (2001AD). It will also explore the main movements that shaped our nation’s history including: Western Expansion, Abolition, and Prohibition . Each student will be required to spend 1 ½ hours in class and 5 hours outside of class each week on the subject. The students will read the material, answer questions in the workbook (which will be parent-graded), and participate in classes. There will be one paper (which I will grade) due at the end of the semester. This course is a full credit hour that will be compressed into one semester.

Course Objectives: By the end of this course, your student will have a clear grasp on our nation’s history. This course is designed to prepare your student for the college level history courses US History I & II.
