Who is Caleb Johnson?

Hello, my name is Caleb Johnson. I am a born again Christian saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. I was homeschooled from the fourth grade up until I graduated at the NCHE conference in May 2010. I am now pursuing my degree in history with a desire to teach the subject. My home education has given me an excellent perspective to relate to and teach other home schooled students.
When did I start teaching history?
My interest in history started at a very young age and continued to grow as I went through high school. In addition to my home studies, I attended college level courses at my local community college and started to read contemporary sources, such as Caesar’s “Gaulic Wars.” My professional teaching career started when I taught a history class for a home school co-op in Spring 2011. I often help friends and family with their historical studies, which has given me great rewards. In Fall 2011 I launched a history blog entitled “Your Historical Compass,” which continues to enjoy a wide reading base. History is a subject full of adventure and surprises, and I love to convey this to my students.
Where am I located?
I live in Fuquay-Varina, NC, and frequent the Raleigh-Cary area.
How do I teach?
I offer courses in a classroom- type setting. This includes a 1 ½ hour class session, with a ten minute break for students to rest and socialize. I also offer private and phone tutoring. Although I offer the required courses, US History and World History, I have taught specific areas of history on demand.
